Begin Your Miso in Tokyo — A Fermentation Experience Near Tokyo Tower

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll make your own miso with traditional Japanese techniques right here in Tokyo.

After the experience, you’ll take your miso home and let it ferment for 3 to 6 months — creating a connection to Japanese food culture that lasts long after your visit.

1. Learn how miso is made — from rice, soybeans, and koji
2. Mix and prepare your own miso paste
3. Shape and pack your miso to take home
4. Enjoy a tasting of miso soup and amazake after the workshop
