This spoon is made from rice resin, a resin made from rice, produced at a factory in Minami-Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, a rice-producing region. The rice content (biomass ratio) of the rice spoon is 34%.

"Rice Resin" is a domestically produced biomass plastic (resin derived from plants) made from rice. By upcycling (creatively reusing) inedible "old rice" and "broken rice" into plastic using our unique technology, we are promoting the shift from petroleum-based plastics to plant-based plastics. This contributes to reducing the planet's CO2 emissions.
